A flexible, two-year part-time master’s degree for professionals

The MSc is a multi-disciplinary and globally-focused course for high-achieving professionals who will provide vision and leadership for sustainable urban futures.
This course is specially designed to fit studying around work commitments. You will attend eight intensive teaching weeks in Oxford and London, before completing your dissertation project, and throughout the course you will have the support of our web-based learning environment.
The MSc is delivered in partnership with The Prince’s Foundation and is accredited by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.

The AIPH World Green City Awards are designed to champion ambitious nature-orientated approaches to city design and operation. Specifically, they seek to recognise public initiatives relying on a greater use of plants and nature to create better city environments – helping to fulfil local aspirations for improved economic, social and environmental resilience. The awards celebrate innovation, achievement, and commitment to the globally recognised imperative to embrace nature-orientated solutions that harvest the power of plants and associated ecosystems services to help address the major challenges facing cities today – or tomorrow.
AIPH initiated these awards to bring wide recognition to the value of plants in providing solutions for common city problems and create an enabling environment to shape and nurture a strategic shift in city governance and planning.
Entries are now open for the inaugural 2022 edition of the AIPH World Green City Awards. Entries close on 14th March 2022.
The online portal is now open to receive entries. Registering your city’s profile on the portal starts the submission process and does not necessarily infer an entry in itself. It simply allows you to access more information, (including an offline copy of the application form), which will assist you in compiling your city’s entry over time, allowing you to come back and edit/add information pertaining to your entry, and to submit your city’s entry online before the 14th March 2022 deadline. The 2022 edition of the AIPH World Green City Awards is offered in six categories, with a winner in each category and one overall AIPH World Green City winner being announced at a special gala event awards ceremony to be held in October 2022.
The AIPH World Green City Awards Timeline is below:
- 22nd April 2021- Launch of the award and call for expression of interest.
- 16th June 2021- Entries open- the application guidelines and an offline version of the application submission form become available to help entry preparation.
- 14th March 2022- Deadline to submit an entry online through the online portal.
- 31st May 2022- Shortlisted cities announced.
- 30th June 2022- Additional information requested by the technical panel must be submitted.
- 29th July 2022- Jury meets to select winners in each category and the overall winner.
- 15th August 2022- Winners of awards notified and invitations made to these cities to attend the gala awards ceremony.
- September/October 2022- Awards ceremony and announcement of the overall winner of the AIPH 2022 World Green City Award.

2022 Smart City Summit and Expo (SCSE) will take place as a hybrid event, physically in Taipei from March 22nd to 25th, 2022 and virtually on its online platform, the Smart City Online. The event is expected to bring together 80,000+ visitors and 300+ exhibitors, with 500+ matchmaking sessions and 50+ forums.
SCSE positions itself as a professional tradeshow featuring IoT solutions. Intertraffic Amsterdam is the leading global trade event on smart mobility, infrastructure, traffic management, safety and parking. With cities determining the trajectory of global development, urban transformation is the key to a more sustainable world. The ICLEI World Congress is the moment for local and regional governments to come together to celebrate and recognize the critical contributions of cities, towns and regions towards our sustainable future.
ICLEI and the City of Malmö, Sweden invite local and regional governments and their partners from around the world to participate in the ICLEI World Congress 2021-2022, a very unique year-long experience.
On 13-15 April 2021, we connected virtually for high-level discussions on how local and regional governments can continue to advance on sustainable development together with ICLEI.
Throughout the rest of 2021, we explored critical topics in sustainable urban development in a virtual event series, building our momentum to 2022.
On 11-13 May 2022, we will gather in person in Malmö, Sweden, for the Malmö Summit to exchange with and inspire one another on the best practices in local sustainable development, and learn first-hand from the City of Malmö’s wealth of sustainability initiatives. The event will have three days of core programming for participants, featuring strategic high-level dialogues building on themes explored in 2021, as well as exciting technical visits, in-depth workshops and multiple networking opportunities especially suited for in-person participation.
The polisMOBILITY interweaves expo, conference and experience elements to do justice to the diversity of urban mobility and offer visitors a comprehensive experience of networked locomotion concepts.
Vividly presented, forward-looking solutions await the visitors under the section ‘Exhibition’ instead of a pure product exhibition. In addition to brand presences, cross-brand theme stands – for instance on “Smart Charging”, “Smart Parking” or “Environmentally-friendly Traffic Control” – allow all of the players involved in the respective project to present the jointly developed solution.
Pioneers of the industry present their ideas and visions in the section ‘Exchange’. Interaction, networking and discussion about the challenges of the mobility transition are the focus. An open content programme in the Koelnmesse halls is freely accessible to the visitors and is enhanced by established conferences and modern dialogue formats. This combination between exciting content and modern networking options offers totally new possibilities of interaction.
Under the heading ‘Experience’, polisMOBILITY includes all the opportunities to experience the future of urban mobility live on the trade fair grounds and in the city. Here, visitors can test all future-oriented, sustainable and accordingly emission-free means of transport on specially set up courses between the trade fair and the city, find out about solutions at topic-centred mobility hubs in the city and visit concrete best practices, in the sense of a real life laboratory, in the city.
The mobility applications presented at the Expo and discussed in the context of “Exchange” can thus be experienced directly in the city by experts and citizens alike.
Since cities and municipalities are faced with similar challenges worldwide and are already pursuing diversified solutions, the global mobility community is to be given a new home in the scope of polisMOBILITY – a digital home. An event and content platform that will be continually updated with relevant contents, virtual events and numerous opportunities for networking from the debut event in 2022 onwards will enable this.
