Busworld Europe 2023 @ Brussels Xpo
Oct 7 – Oct 12 all-day

The biggest Bus and Coach only exhibition back on track after 4 years

Busworld Europe (Brussels), the biggest B2B bus and coach exhibition in the world, was organised for the first time in 1971. From the start, it has always been an exhibition dedicated to buses and coaches alone: no other commercial vehicles (like truck, van,…) or other modes of public transport (like tram, train, metro…) are allowed. It’s all about bus, coach and people.

Vehicle manufacturers, body builders, component manufacturers and accessorists show their latest products and services during 6 days, from Saturday 7 October till Thursday 12 October 2023 in Brussels Xpo in Belgium. All information can be found on the website www.busworldeurope.org.

International audience

In 2019, Busworld Europe welcomed 511 exhibitors, coming from 37 countries. They were visited by more than 40,000 visitors, coming from 143 countries. Busworld is the ideal bi-annual international networking platform for all professionals in the industry. And on top of that: it’s fun.

Place to be: Brussels

Brussels, the capital of Europe, has a lot of advantages for an international bus and coach festival. It’s easy to reach in all possible transport modes from far and away.

New in 2023

The Busworld Vehicle Awards competition adds a third category: intercity.

A new competition will see the light: the Busworld Digital Awards. Putting the spotlight on the many digital products and services in the bus and coach world.

And last but not least visitors and exhibitors can use the new Busworld Europe tool in a desktop and app version with: an interactive floorplan, detailed exhibitor profiles and products, seminar schedules and a tool to connect with other people in the show, both visitors as well as exhibitor staff. The more efficient your visit is planned, the more time is left to create and maintain meaningful relationships while having a good time.

European Week of Regions and Cities 2023 @ SQUARE Brussels Meeting Centre
Oct 10 – Oct 11 all-day

Join ICLEI Europe at the European Week of Regions and Cities 2023 to pave the way for a sustainable and resilient future

At this year’s European Week of Regions and Cities (EWRC) – the European Union’s annual event dedicated to cities and regions – ICLEI Europe will bring together ambitious local leaders who are paving the way for a more sustainable and resilient future.

As part of the EWRC, ICLEI will host a variety of sessions that reaffirm the importance of sustainability-driven policy action.

At a moment when access to healthy and sustainably produced food is of growing concern across Europe, ICLEI’s first event focuses on healthy and sustainable school meals. On 10 October, from 9:30 – 10:30 CET, IFOAM Organics Europe, with the support of ICLEI Europe, will advocate for the implementation of healthy and sustainable school meals for every child in Europe during the workshop: Promoting social innovation through public canteens. The power of the public plate to improve the welfare of individuals, and communities, is an opportunity that cannot be missed.

As the EU moves forward with the implementation of the European Green Deal, the role of cities and regions in leading the charge, and delivering a climate-neutral Europe, is essential. On 11 October from 11:30 – 13:00 CET, ICLEI Europe and the European Committee of the Regions (CoR) will be joined by Minna Arve, Mayor of ICLEI Member Turku (Finland) and ICLEI Vice-President; CoR Member Hanna Zdanowska, Mayor of ICLEI Member Łódź (Poland); and Diana Pretzell, the First Deputy Mayor of ICLEI Member Mannheim (Germany) for the high-level participatory lab: Local Green Deals: Closing the gap between commitment and action. The interactive session will debate and develop ideas with participants to ensure the EU Green Deal, and the radical change it requires, will be met with broad social acceptance.

European Urban Resilience Forum @ Cascais

Taking stock of urban resilience in Europe: European Urban Resilience Forum invites city leaders to create a better future

18 – 20 October 2023

Cascais, Portugal

From 18 – 20 October, the European Urban Resilience Forum (EURESFO) will bring leading city representatives and resilience professionals together in Cascais (Portugal) to mark the flagship event’s 10th anniversary. Through interactive sessions, study visits and discussions, the 2023 edition aims to take stock of urban resilience in Europe and to answer the question: What is needed to help local and regional governments address resilience challenges towards 2030 and beyond?

By examining the progress achieved, and challenges faced, over the past ten years, EURESFO will support participants in evaluating their performance and advancing a resilient future. The conference has developed its programme around three themes: Managing and funding resilience in Europe; Challenging knowledge and innovation: accelerating a resilient and just transformation; and Mainstreaming solutions for a just transformative pathway: an integrated approach to resilience.

As the host, the City of Cascais will bring vital nature-based and socio-economic experience to share throughout the event. To mark its ten year anniversary, EURESFO has unveiled engaging new programme elements including a new Resilience Investment and Financing Forum co-organised by ICLEI Europe, the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction and the Making Cities Resilient 2030 initiative, five local study visits, a Solution Pitch Slam, an interactive Marketplace, and more.

To implement an accelerated resilience transformation, Europe must address ongoing challenges such as Russia’s brutal invasion of Ukraine and the unprecedented scale and frequency of climate change, the impacts of which are destabilising communities on a global scale. With these challenges in mind, the 2023 edition of EURESFO will offer space to discuss, and plan for, a shared vision of European transformation toward a resilient future.

Register until 6 October.

The full programme is published here.
