Smart City Live

An indispensable event for cities and urban innovation in the Covid era

Smart City Live: What cities should do in the new normal scenario?

The COVID-19 pandemic has left an indelible mark on the outlook of the urban coat and is forcing city officials to rethink urban development to adapt to coronavirus risks and fears.

To talk through the variety of ways that cities around the world are coping with this new scenario, Smart City Expo World Congress (SCEWC) will hold on November 17-18 an innovative edition under the name Smart City Live (#SCLive2020). Organised by Fira de Barcelona, this year’s summit presents a unique two-day digital experience aimed at providing cities with a global new tool for business and knowledge.

Accurate content will be broadcast from Barcelona to the world through the event’s website and also through social media in a new virtual and interactive format comprising two different blocks. The first one (17/11) consists of a full-day live television show with interviews, debates, reports, success cases and parallel sessions. The second one (18/11) features online workshops and side events.

The flagship event Smart City Expo World Congress as we knew it before the pandemic will be back in 2021.

ITS European Congress @ MEETT - Parc des Expositions et Centre de Conventions de Toulouse Métropole
May 30 – Jun 1 all-day

ERTICO ITS Europe

ERTICO – ITS Europe and Toulouse Métropole will proudly host the European ITS Congress in the Centre of Toulouse, from 30 May to 1 June 2022. The event will take place at the newly built Exhibition and Conference Centre MEETT – conveniently located near the Toulouse-Blagnac Airport. The ITS Congresses underline the importance of Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS), particularly in cities and regions where they are hosted and are important channels to raise awareness of smart mobility solutions among policymakers, experts and the general public.

The ITS Congresses also represent the ultimate showcase of mobility services deployment and are the means for the ITS Community to keep pace with the incredible evolution of the industry. Over the years, the European Congresses have offered a platform for thought leaders, developers, entrepreneurs and decision-makers from the transport, logistics and IT industries to share ideas and progress smart and sustainable mobility.

The 14th edition of the ITS European Congress in Toulouse 2022 invites organisations from the broad spectrum of the ITS ecosystem to play a role in the ongoing development of smart mobility. The Congress Programme offers delegates an unparalleled opportunity to learn about the latest ITS technologies and new mobility concepts. Experts, researchers, policymakers, solutions providers from the mobility sectors (and beyond) are invited to submit contributions for various sessions to share innovative ideas and lessons learnt, discuss mobility challenges that cities face today, and address them through ITS solutions.

Webinar: How to integrate autonomous vehicles with public transport
Jun 21 @ 6:30 pm – 7:30 pm

Via Webinar

Driverless transport isn’t simply a faraway dream. In fact, it’s already happening in innovative cities like Arlington, Texas, US and Kelheim, Germany.

Cities and transport authorities across the globe are using intelligent booking, routing and tracking software to seamlessly integrate autonomous vehicles (AVs) with existing transportation infrastructure across a wide variety of transport needs without sacrificing safety, equity or efficiency.

When deployed as part of public transport, AVs are more sustainable and accessible; and when designed and deployed efficiently, AVs can provide a useful service for riders, while enabling operators and automakers to maximise their autonomous investment.

Hear from our panel as they discuss these innovative partnerships in detail.

Speakers:

  • Ann Foss, Principal Planner at the City of Arlington
  • Jan Eller, Operations Principal at Via
  • Meghan Grela, Autonomous Lead at Via

Join us to learn how to convene the right partners, secure funding, and start deploying AVs to meet real transport needs in your community.
