Comcast recently announced a further commitment to its Smart Solutions business by expanding its portfolio of offerings with new collaborations in Smart Buildings, Video Analytics, Smart Mobility, Digital Signage, Smart Lighting, and Smart Public Works. In addition, the company announced successful deployments across college campuses, office buildings, municipalities, and more.
Comcast Smart Solutions is a single stop for smart technology and connectivity, empowering communities to operate more efficiently and effectively through lower energy use, reduced costs, and higher levels of interaction. The team advises, helps design, deploy, and support holistic smart technology ecosystems with a curated roster of top smart technology partnerships, to help create efficient and productive buildings and environments that meet the needs of tomorrow’s communities and businesses.
“There is incredible potential for smart technology to unlock new efficiencies for businesses and municipalities, and we look forward to continuing to simplify the smart technology journey for our customers,” said Mike Slovin, Vice President and General Manager, Comcast Smart Solutions. “With our growing roster of technology solutions, and the power of Comcast’s breadth of connectivity options, we can help create customized solutions that empower our clients to operate their communities and businesses at their best.”
Partnerships
Since launching in April 2022, Comcast Smart Solutions has expanded its relationships with technology providers across the growing smart technology ecosystem, including Quantela, a global leader in urban infrastructure solutions and integrated AI-technologies for smart cities and businesses, Creative Realities (NASDAQ: CREX, CREXW), a leader in end-to-end intelligent and interactive digital signage solutions that scale, and Umojo, an innovator with complete and transformative parking solutions. They join an already impressive list of partners that include Conservation Labs, Eagle Eye Networks, Juganu, Logical Buildings, MachineQ, netPark, and SmartEnds.
With this expanded roster of collaborators, plus connectivity from the company that offers the nation’s largest gig-speed network, Comcast Smart Solutions delivers custom-configured solutions for customers, including multifamily properties, mixed-use developments, enterprise businesses, campuses, and cities and municipalities.
Projects
Hopeworks, a non-profit social enterprise in Camden, NJ and Philadelphia, PA, partnered with Comcast Smart Solutions and Logical Buildings to create a smart energy management solution, including Comcast access points, smart thermostats and leak detection sensors. The solution harnesses Logical Buildings’ SmartKit AI™ toolkit – enabled by Comcast’s MachineQ device-to-cloud platform – to deliver real-time energy visualization and management, helping HopeWorks manage energy use.
Additionally, The City of College Park, minutes away from the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport in Georgia, worked with Comcast Smart Solutions on several evolving smart deployments, including smart waste bin sensors and public WiFi. In collaboration with Eagle Eye Networks using Comcast’s public WiFi deployment, College Park also deployed a video analytics solution to analyze vehicle traffic patterns, speed, and congestion, as well as monitor pedestrian safety. College Park expects to share the resulting analytics with the city council and police department on a weekly basis to reduce speeding and optimize the use of sanitation trucks.
With Comcast Smart Solutions’ expanded product offerings plus the success of their current deployments, the team is poised to simplify the smart technology process for new clients.
