Autonomous shuttle pilot launches in Altamonte Springs

The City of Altamonte Springs in Florida has launched an autonomous shuttle service pilot which aims to extend mobility options and access to goods and services for residents, visitors and businesses.

The State of Florida’s Department of Transportation chose the city to serve as a testbed for AV shuttles and provide data on implementing the technology in other municipalities.

In collaboration with autonomous mobility specialist Beep, the first phase of the CraneRIDES service launched this week, testing two electric autonomous vehicle (AV) shuttles on a nearly 2.5-kilometre route that connects key points across the city.
