Authorium, a technology platform for government operations, has introduced AuthorAI, a new AI-powered solution designed to improve the efficiency of creating Statements of Work (SOW) for public sector agencies.

Developed in collaboration with AWS, the solution aims to help local governments generate high-quality SOWs more quickly while ensuring transparency and compliance with procurement regulations.

“AuthorAI helps teams dramatically reduce completion time to develop a SOW,” Jay Nath (pictured), Co-CEO of Authorium, told Cities Today. “When pulled away from their critical responsibilities, writers face the challenge of starting with a blank page.”

“AuthorAI offers the ability to improve the quality and consistency of SOWs, freeing programme teams to get back to their high-value work and helping public sector agencies achieve more effective project outcomes.”

Trained on millions of government procurement documents, AuthorAI adapts to the specific needs of each procurement, offering language and references suited to different government projects. The solution was designed to assist teams in producing consistent and high-quality documents, which could then be shared and revised across departments.

“Authorium is extremely scalable for government teams dealing with limited resources and legacy systems,” said Nath. “Our configurable, no-code solutions enables quick deployment without extensive IT intervention, reducing costs and ensuring fast implementation.”

The platform has been designed to integrate with existing municipal systems, breaking down data silos and improving cross-department collaboration. Built on AWS GovCloud, it ensures strong security standards and offers pre-configured integrations with Enterprise Resource Planning and other operational systems.

“Government teams pointed to the platform’s ability to reduce duplicative work, gain immediate visibility into complex workflows, and its easy-to-use interface with real-time collaboration as keys to supporting more efficient and effective cross-department efforts,” he added.

In addition to its product developments, Authorium is also active in shaping procurement policies. The company has supported the Procurement Reform Act in Maryland, legislation aimed at improving the efficiency of state agency procurements.

“We provided expert testimony to the State of Maryland in support of legislation designed to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of state agency procurements while bolstering the local economy,” Nath said.

The company has also secured an additional US$8 million in investment, which has been allocated to accelerate key strategic initiatives. These include recruiting new talent, opening a new office in Washington DC, continuing research and development, and launching new products.

Nath and his fellow Co-CEO Kamran Saddique said: “Over the past year, Authorium doubled the amount of government acquisitions processed on our platform, from US$25 billion in spring 2024 to US$50 billion today, and we were thrilled to continue that momentum with this announcement.”
