Cities Festival: Co-creating Biodiverse Cities through Nature-based Solutions & Urban Nature Plans

The Cities Festival is a unique one-day capacity-building gathering bringing cities and regions together to connect, exchange experiences, and explore practical approaches to creating biodiverse, healthy and more resilient urban environments through Nature-based Solutions (NbS) and Urban Nature Plans (UNPs).

Part of NetworkNature Week, held within the framework of the Nature-based Solutions International Congress, the Cities Festival is designed specifically with and for local and regional authorities, bringing together peers from across Europe.

Participants will have the opportunity to:

• Exchange practical experiences, lessons learned and applied solutions with fellow cities and regions;
• Explore real-world approaches to urban greening, Nature-based Solutions and Urban Nature Plans;
• Participate in a dynamic programme of nine interactive workshops, site visits, exhibitions and networking sessions;
• Gain new ideas, practical tools and fresh perspectives to support local priorities such as biodiversity, cleaner air and water, improved quality of life and climate resilience;
• Strengthen their capacity to address key urban challenges through collaboration, peer learning and the exchange of practical knowledge.

The programme also includes visits to urban nature sites in Paris, offering participants the opportunity to explore practical approaches on the ground.

The City of Paris and its co-hosts, UNP+, NetworkNature, and ICLEI Europe look forward to welcoming cities and regions to a day of collaboration, inspiration and practical exchange.

Local and regional government representatives, urban nature experts and pioneers are invited to register to participate in person in Paris at the Cities Festival via this link.
