The city of Denver is currently undergoing a mobility transformation with a large-scale remodelling of one of its main thoroughfares – 16th Street Mall – and a new Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) service set to launch next year.

Speaking on the sidelines of the recent Cities Today Institute City Leadership Forum in San Diego, Adam Phipps, Executive Director in Denver’s Department of Transportation & Infrastructure, outlined how he believes the transit experience can be reshaped, and how funding could be developed to spur innovation.

“[It’s about] changing the fundamental transit experience that you have in Denver, [having] something that’s clean, comfortable, reliable and dependable – something that you can build your life and your needs for mobility around.”
