The International Federation for Housing and Planning is a global network of professional institutions and individuals active in the broad fields of housing, urban development and planning. The IFHP was established in 1913 by Ebenezer Howard, the founder of the Garden Cities and Town Planning Association, which later became the IFHP.

“We are delighted that the International Federation for Housing and Planning is becoming a strategic partner of Cities Today and will join the Editorial Advisory Board alongside the World Bank, C40, ICLEI, UN-Habitat and UCLG ASPAC among other important agencies active in urban development,” said Richard Forster, Managing Editor of Cities Today. “The Federation, which celebrates its 100th year in 2013, brings together a range of stakeholders for better design and planning of cities and we look forward to participating in the Centenary Congress to be held in London in June.”

The IFHP consists of members from 60 countries who use the organisation as a platform to exchange knowledge and information. Through this exchange, IFHP promotes mutual learning and inspiration, and generate new ideas amongst professionals in order to equip them to find the best local solutions to the global challenges facing housing and planning today. In 2013 IFHP celebrates its centenary year with a series of events around the world, with the IFHP Centenary Congress on June 8-11 at University College London as the pivotal event.
